The legal entity is Space Exploration Technologies Corp., headquartered in Starbase, Texas. But open the filing and a second company appears beside it: xAI, founded in 2023; X, the former Twitter, which xAI acquired in 2025; Grok, folded into SpaceX in 2026; and an AI supercluster in Memphis.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: 'Newsreader', Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: 20px; line-height: 1.65; letter-spacing: 0; color: #1a1a1a; margin: 0 0 1.5em 0;\">This is the <span style=\"white-space:nowrap;\">S-1<\/span> of a <span style=\"white-space:nowrap;\">24-year-old<\/span> company that now handles more than half of the world&rsquo;s launches. In 2025 it flew 170 times, and cumulatively it has lifted roughly 7,400 tonnes to orbit; Starlink reached 10.3 million subscribers by the end of Q1 2026. The filing opens by sizing every market it believes it can reach &mdash; a total addressable market it splits into seven sectors (built on <span style=\"white-space:nowrap;\">third-party<\/span> estimates from BCG, Ericsson, Grand View Research and others). Three are space: <span style=\"white-space:nowrap;\">Space-Enabled<\/span> Solutions at about <span style=\"white-space:nowrap;\">$370<\/span> billion, <span style=\"white-space:nowrap;\">Starlink Broadband<\/span> at about <span style=\"white-space:nowrap;\">$870<\/span> billion, <span style=\"white-space:nowrap;\">Starlink Mobile<\/span> at about <span style=\"white-space:nowrap;\">$740<\/span> billion &mdash; together roughly <span style=\"white-space:nowrap;\">7%<\/span> of the total. The other four are AI: AI Infrastructure, Consumer Subscriptions, Digital Advertising, and <strong style=\"font-weight: 700; color: #000;\"><strong style=\"font-weight: 700; color: #000;\">Enterprise Applications<\/strong><\/strong>. Combined, they reach <strong style=\"font-weight: 700; color: #000;\"><strong style=\"font-weight: 700; color: #000;\">about <span style=\"white-space:nowrap;\">$26.5<\/span> trillion &mdash; <span style=\"white-space:nowrap;\">93%<\/span> of the TAM<\/strong><\/strong>. The total is <span style=\"white-space:nowrap;\">$28.5<\/span> trillion. SpaceX runs three segments &mdash; Space, Connectivity (Starlink), and AI &mdash; and only one of them turns an operating profit: <strong style=\"font-weight: 700; color: #000;\">Starlink<\/strong>. Space booked about <span style=\"white-space:nowrap;\">$4.1<\/span> billion of 2025 revenue but a roughly <span style=\"white-space:nowrap;\">$0.7<\/span> billion operating loss. AI lost about <strong style=\"font-weight: 700; color: #000;\"><strong style=\"font-weight: 700; color: #000;\"><span style=\"white-space:nowrap;\">$6.4<\/span> billion<\/strong><\/strong> at the operating line in a single year, a loss the filing describes as &ldquo;reflecting its earlier stage of development.&rdquo; Starlink, by contrast, posted about <span style=\"white-space:nowrap;\">$4.4<\/span> billion of operating income and about <span style=\"white-space:nowrap;\">$7.2<\/span> billion of Segment Adjusted EBITDA. Add it all up and <span style=\"white-space:nowrap;\">company-wide<\/span> Adjusted EBITDA looks like a <strong style=\"font-weight: 700; color: #000;\"><strong style=\"font-weight: 700; color: #000;\"><span style=\"white-space:nowrap;\">$6.6<\/span> billion profit<\/strong><\/strong> &mdash; but strip the adjustments away and it flips to a <span style=\"white-space:nowrap;\">$2.6<\/span> billion operating loss. The <span style=\"white-space:nowrap;\">S-1<\/span> hands investors that gap between the adjusted number and the reported reality, unedited. (Adjusted EBITDA: operating income with <span style=\"white-space:nowrap;\">non-cash<\/span> items such as depreciation added back &mdash; a proxy for underlying cash generation.)<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: 'Newsreader', Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: 20px; line-height: 1.65; letter-spacing: 0; color: #1a1a1a; margin: 0 0 1.5em 0;\">No CEO letter was filed; it is an optional item. In its place, three <span style=\"white-space:nowrap;\">Elon Musk<\/span> quotes are set into the body of the <span style=\"white-space:nowrap;\">S-1<\/span> as images.<br \/>&nbsp;<br \/>&ldquo;<span style=\"white-space:nowrap;\">Starlink internet<\/span> is what&rsquo;s being used to pay for humanity getting to Mars.&rdquo;<br \/>&ldquo;xAI is moving faster than any other company.
